“I believe in the people of this state and will continue to stand up for Alaska”
FAIRBANKS, AK – Today, the Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce hosted their Candidate Forum for the U.S. House of Representatives with Congressman for All Alaska Don Young and his opponent Alyse Galvin.
“Alaskans know and trust my ability to fight for them. I have a proven track record of fighting for jobs, responsible resource development and better health care for all Alaskans. I listen to Alaskans’ concerns and take their ideas back to Washington to produce results for our great state,” said Congressman Young. “My focus on Alaska is unwavering and my effectiveness is enhanced by my ability to work across party lines. My opponent talks about civility but instead chooses to disparage my service for our state. I stand committed to continue fighting for the future of Alaska and I’m energized to continue this work.”
Congressman Young is the longest current serving member of the United States House of Representatives and holds the title of Dean of the House. He is Chairman Emeritus of the House Natural Resources Committee and a senior member of the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. The Washington Post named Congressman Young as one the top 10 most effective lawmakers, credited for his ability to work across party lines to focus on Alaskan interests. The Lugar Center and Georgetown University’s McCourt School of Public Policy have recently ranked Congressman Young among the top 10% of bipartisan Members of Congress.
