Representatives Don Young and Mike Thompson Announce Second Year of Veterans Congressional Fellowship Caucus

Washington, D.C. – Alaska Congressman Don Young and Rep. Mike Thompson (D-CA) have announced that the bipartisan Veterans Congressional Fellowship Caucus is now accepting applications for 2015 fellows. The mission of the Caucus is to increase the number of veterans working on Capitol Hill. To do this, veterans Young (U.S. Army 1955-1957) and Thompson (U.S. Army 1967-1973) launched the caucus fellowship program last year.

Washington, D.C. – Alaskan Congressman Don Young offered the following statement after House passage of H.R. 2353, the Highway and Transportation Funding Act of 2015, which authorizes a two-month extension of federal transportation funding. Congressman Young voted in favor of the measure which passed 387 to 35.
Bipartisan Coast Guard Authorization Passes House, Includes Alaska Provisions Championed by Congressman Young

Washington, D.C. – The House of Representatives and Alaskan Congressman Don Young passed H.R. 1987, the Coast Guard Authorization Act of 2015, which advances a number of reforms and priorities to support the critical mission of protecting our oceans and waterways. The bipartisan legislation, which authorizes U.S. Coast Guard funding and priorities for Fiscal Years 2016 and 2017, unanimously passed the House this evening.
